Buakaw Por. Pramuk Soft Power

“Buakaw Banchamek” the legendary Thai Muay Thai fighter known worldwide for his incredible skills, has become an integral part of promoting the sport of “Muay Thai” on a global scale. Beyond showcasing his physical prowess, Buakaw also represents the rich Thai culture passed down through the sport of Muay Thai.

Most recently, Li Jing Xiang, a young woman from China deeply enamored with the art of Muay Thai and an admirer of Buakaw, expressed her desire to travel to Thailand and learn Muay Thai from Buakaw. Her journey to achieve this goal, however, was far from ordinary, as she cycled over 4,000 kilometers across continents, all the way from Shanxi Province to Chiang Mai Province.

Her ultimate goal was to receive Muay Thai instruction from Buakaw at the Buakaw Village Muay Thai camp in Chiang Mai. Buakaw Banchamek, the pride of Chiang Mai, gladly welcomed her and was overjoyed to be a part of Li Jing Xiang’s journey, which is now making “Muay Thai” an essential component of her Soft Power initiative.

Buakaw was deeply touched by Li Jingxiang’s incredible effort in cycling across the world to learn Muay Thai, and he eagerly awaits the day she arrives at his camp. He is delighted that Muay Thai is becoming an integral part of the Soft Power initiative that is introducing it to people around the globe. This is all happening before the launch of a new chapter in the history of combat sports, “THE MATCH OF LEGEND,” scheduled for 2024, featuring legendary international fighters such as Manny Pacquiao.
